Short-Form Creative Director

Job Description

About

This role exists to give each client the strategic, creative brain they deserve so their content actually grows, and to enable the company to scale without sacrificing quality of service. The team handles strategy, scripting, filming, editing, and daily posting of short-form content for 7-9 figure founder-led businesses. Most clients see 3-5x follower growth within their first 6 months, with every active client currently growing week over week. You will report to Danny (Founder / Head of Strategy) and collaborate with Analysts, Customer Success, and Post-Production, as well as clients, to present strategy, report on metrics, and answer high-level questions.

This is dedicated, full-time work designed for meaningful impact, stability, and long-term professional growth. The team's two biggest investments are payroll and education, so you have real room to sharpen your craft, grow your responsibility, and build a career as a Creative Director rather than jump between short engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Own strategy and creative decisions for a pod of founder-led brand accounts, growing responsibility toward a full pod of 7 to 10+ clients over your first year
  • Turn client onboarding materials and expertise into clear strategy in Notion, including content pillars, brand promise, and page optimizations
  • Lead initial 60-minute strategy calls to present your plan and get clients bought in
  • Generate ongoing content ideas with the best topics and formats for each client's brand and page
  • Write scripts from those ideas using AI/Claude systems and scripting frameworks, then sharpen final hooks and headlines yourself (expect to write around 50-60 scripts per week)
  • Support clients with filming via Zoom, helping with performance and delivery, mics and lighting, and uploads
  • Give final creative approval on edited videos before they go to clients to protect quality and brand fit
  • Review performance (winners and losers) each week and adjust ideas, hooks, and formats based on what's working
  • Keep client work organized so the team always knows what to do next, and help improve and document templates, prompts, and SOPs for future Creative Directors
  • Hit weekly inputs consistently: submit ideas, scripts, and approvals on time or early, follow best practices and frameworks, provide clear briefs to post-production, and show up to calls early and engaged
  • Drive long-term outputs: your pod hits agreed follower-growth targets and week-over-week growth, clients stay happy with your strategy and service, and renewals hold at or above baseline
  • Grow toward full autonomy within 12 months, with the founder as a thought partner for edge cases, and help train and mentor new Creative Directors using playbooks you helped build

Qualifications

  • Have grown at least one founder-led business account from small to meaningful scale, for example under 1,000 to 50,000+ followers, and can show your work (must-have)
  • Direct, hands-on experience with short-form content where you owned ideas and scripts, not just posting (must-have)
  • Can write hooks and headlines that stop the scroll, with examples to prove it (must-have)
  • Organized operator who time-blocks deep work and can manage multiple clients and a heavy weekly script load without dropping balls (must-have)
  • Confident on calls, able to explain why an idea will work and handle pushback from smart founders (must-have)
  • Comfortable using AI tools like Claude as a core part of your scripting workflow (must-have)
  • Looking for a long-term home where you can grow your responsibility and income (must-have)
  • Solid working overlap with Pacific / Mountain hours (must-have)
  • Prior experience at a content or social media agency, or as an in-house content lead for a founder, preferred
  • Familiarity with Notion, ClickUp, Slack, and Frame.io preferred
  • On-camera coaching experience, even informally, preferred
