This role exists to own the company's financial operations end to end, so payroll runs cleanly without founder involvement, interstate compliance stays current, and the books are always ready for tax filing and strategic analysis. The Finance Operations Manager plugs directly into the leadership team, translating day-to-day financial activity into reliable reporting the business can act on.

Responsibilities

• Own payroll end to end and ensure timely, accurate runs without founder involvement.

• Audit and establish interstate compliance, including registrations, filings, and taxes beyond payroll, then maintain ongoing requirements as the business grows.

• Clean up and maintain QuickBooks so the books stay tax-ready year-round.

• Produce regular financial reports on a repeatable cadence for leadership review.

• Track unearned revenue recognition and keep the treatment consistent month over month.

• Support contribution margin analysis outside QuickBooks as needed.

• Build a repeatable reporting cadence informed by CRM data (Wyze Tutor CRM) to connect operational activity with financial results.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience running payroll end to end, independently and accurately (must-have).

• Working knowledge of multi-state / interstate compliance, including registrations, filings, and non-payroll tax obligations (must-have).

• Proficiency in QuickBooks, including cleanup work and preparing books for tax (must-have).

• Ability to produce clear financial reports and establish a repeatable reporting cadence (must-have).

• Experience with unearned / deferred revenue recognition.

• Experience working from CRM data to inform financial reporting preferred.
